 FARRELL--Brother Michael Patrick, FSC on September 20, 2009 in New York City in the Fiftieth year of his Vows as a Brother of the Christian Schools. Born in Ascension Parish, Manhattan March 4, 1940, to John and Anne (Comiskey) Farrell, he is survived by Bro. John Farrell, FSC, Kathleen Farrell, James and Eugene. He entered the Christian Brothers on June 26, 1958 and graduated Catholic University of America with a BS in Physics in 1963, and completed his MS in Physics at the University of Notre Dame in 1970. After over 20 years teaching and heading the Brothers schools in Ethiopia, he returned to New York to be close to his ailing parents. He then began his long association with La Salle Academy in Manhattan as a teacher and then as Principal, and finally retired as President in 2006. He was a strong supporter of the LaSallian Volunteer movement living with them at Resurrection Parish, Harlem, and until his death at the Bedford Park Community. Reposing at John J. Fox & Sons, 201 Street and the Grand Concourse Tuesday and Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10am at St. Philip Neri Church, across from Fox Funeral Home. Interment follows at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the LaSallian Volunteers; Christian Brothers Conference; Hecker Suite 300; 3025 Fourth St. NE, Washington, DC 20017-1102.
