Exploration Concepts

In addition to extending identified key trends and leads from our Central Mackenzie Valley study area in the north (Cambrian - Cretaceous) and Devonian study NEBC in the south (Slave Point - Chinchaga) to the new study area, the following geological features and exploration concepts will be evaluated: .

a) Structurally fractured and porosity-enhanced Manetoe facies of Devonian carbonates (Nahanni, Funeral, Landry and Arnica Formations) within the Liard region (e.g. Pointed Mountain, Liard, Kotaneelee, Beaver River);

b) Normal block faulting and re-activated horst and graben structures of the Devonian, Silurian and Ordovician sections (e.g. Cameron Hills);

c) Stratigraphic carbonate plays of the Slave Point Formation (e.g. Trout Lake);

d) Stratigraphic pinch-out plays of Cretaceous sandstones of the Chinkeh Formation (e.g. Maxhamish);

e) Structurally controlled accumulations within the Mattson and Fantasque Formations (e.g. Liard);

f) Structural play opportunities within the Mississippian Flett Formation (e.g. Celibita High);

g) The impact of strike-slip movements analogous to the Hay River Fault, and salt tectonics on trap and reservoir development;

h) Assessment of potential source rocks, maturation and migration pathways;

i) Regional hydrodynamic influences on petroleum entrapment.
